I wanted to take a moment to brag on the Blueprint plant team. This past weekend Alex and I (Cody) were in Minneapolis for a Pastors’ Conference. While connecting and catching up with many friends who are pastors, I found myself repeatedly saying this phrase, “I have moved to Fayetteville, AR with 23 of my closest friends.” It is true. For five years I have been praying and asking God to put together a team that would ultimately uproot their lives and takes a 350-mile step of faith from Manhattan, KS to Fayetteville, AR. And here we are!
We are in the middle of getting the whole team down here. All but two families are on the ground in Fayetteville.
If you would stop reading right now and take a moment to ask God to provide jobs for the two families who need them, our whole team would appreciate it!
The life of a Christian is meant to be lived out within the community. We were never intended to do this thing alone! There is power in the love of Jesus Christ knitting together lives for the advancement of His Kingdom. I have the privilege to live with and labor alongside some of the best people I have ever met. Since landing in Fayetteville I have been so encouraged at the ways our team looks to connect with each other, the city, and their own neighborhoods and apartment complexes.
In just a few short months we have had a few cookouts with a handful of visitors. Also, each week I have heard story after story of different individuals having courageous Gospel-centered conversations with their coworkers, family members, and neighbors. In 1 Thessalonians 2, Paul is writing to the church in Thessalonica and says this about them: “We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the Gospel of God but also our own lives because you had become dear to us.”
The caliber of people I have the privilege of working with and serving within Blueprint Church is pretty amazing. I am blown away at their generosity, consistency, their hope in Jesus Christ, and their love for people. I care so much for them that it is a pleasure to dig into the Bible each week in our apartment with everyone, it is a joy to check BBQ places out, play music at the Farmers’ Market with them, pray for people we are meeting together, and simply live life alongside all of them.
If I were, to sum up the update for this month it would be this: I am continually amazed at the way God directs our lives. The Blueprint Community is my family and I am honored to share my life with them.
• Jesus Changes Lives •
My life looked really good growing up. I enjoyed sports and doing things outdoors. I grew up in a big family, with parents and siblings that loved and cared about me. My parents taught us about God and the Bible.
I was nine years old when I first seriously cared about my eternal state. When my sister confronted me with the reality of Heaven and Hell, I knew based on the Bible that if I were to die that night, that I would spend eternity in a place separated from God and my family. After talking to my parents, I chose to believe the Gospel which affirms that anyone who believes in Jesus will be saved!
I put my trust in Jesus that day, and experienced a peace that I hadn’t know up to that point. My life would now be Jesus’ and He would secure my eternity.
I’ve continued to learn of God’s compassion and goodness towards me since believing in Jesus. This helps me to overcome and battle against my sinful desires, and to fight the devil. My faith in Jesus reminds me that I am a child of God and that nothing can separate me from His love. These truths have helped me to rule over my body in the area of porn, lust, and masturbation. I had no power to stop doing these things until I obeyed and believed the Bible and then I was able to be free! I am now able to experience joy and peace only because of Jesus and His power to fight sin.
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Jesus doesn’t just get me out of Hell, He also wants to give me an abundant life.John 10:10
He has taken all my sin upon Himself and paid the penalty for sin that I deserve. I’m very thankful for Jesus’ love for me, and His willingness to give up His own life that I might have life eternal.
A Word From The Pastors
We are reminded daily that our God is the Provider. He has provided and He will continue to provide for us.
Here’s what we are asking of God, please join us in praying for these things:
- That God would quickly provide jobs for the two families still in Manhattan. Many members of our team have been praying that these families would be able to find jobs and move to Fayetteville at the same time – the sooner the better.
- That God would provide a space for us to meet in on Sunday mornings.
- That we would be able to continue to make connections in Fayetteville. That God would grow our hearts for the city and its people and equip us to love like Jesus.
- That many would hear the Gospel, receive salvation, and be baptized.
Thank you so much for being a part of this giant step of faith and for supporting us with prayer and by partnering with us financially through the Coffee Cup Initiative!
